What is microneedling good for?

A microneedling procedure for the skin is minimally invasive. A thin needle is used to make tiny holes in the top layer of your skin by your healthcare provider. Damage stimulates the skin’s healing process, which leads to the production of more collagen and elastin. Keeping your skin firm and smooth is made possible by these proteins.

Skin texture and appearance can be improved by microneedling. Other skin concerns such as stretch marks, scars, wrinkles, and others can be minimized with it.

Unlike some facial rejuvenation procedures that use heat, light, or lasers, it doesn’t cause skin discoloration. Because of this, microneedling is ideal for people who have darker skin tones.

How long do microneedling results last?

Follow-up treatments are usually scheduled twice a year so that you can maintain your results. You can help preserve your results by maintaining a routine for taking care of your skin at home. It is also important to avoid excessive exposure to the sun, either by wearing sunscreen or wearing clothing that protects from the sun.

Microneedling may cause your skin to burn or feel tight in the days and weeks following treatment. Moisturizing improves the appearance of dry, flaking skin in some people.

A microneedling treatment usually takes 3 to 8 weeks, and most people need multiple sessions. It can take between three and six months to see results. Once the procedure has been completed, you may need to repeat it once a year for maintenance purposes.

How often should you microneedling?

Microneedling treatments can safely be done every four to six weeks or once a month as a general rule. Microneedling treatment at this frequency works best for most patients of all skin types, although some patients may need more or less frequent treatments depending on their skin type and aesthetic goals.
If you would like us to help you determine the best frequency for your treatments, we will be happy to do so so that your skin health – and your beauty – can be maximized.

You can expect a “round” of treatments that take place closer together than your regular sessions will in the future if this is your first time having this treatment.

It is important to get the best results as quickly as possible with your first round of treatment. The average patient will have between two and three treatments spaced about four weeks apart.

To maintain your results, all subsequent appointments will be used after your first round of treatment is complete.

Since the results of this treatment build gradually, you will be able to have longer periods between maintenance appointments. It is common for patients to undergo regular treatments every 6 to 8 weeks for this purpose.

Because of the nature of this treatment, the time between appointments is important. For most people, it takes about 3 to 4 weeks for dead skin cells to shed and heal. You might heal faster when you are younger, but you might need more time between treatments if you are older.

What are the dos and don’ts after microneedling?

Keeping your skin healthy after a microneedling procedure is essential to getting the best results. After the procedure, avoid taking any anti-inflammatory medications for one week. Avoid applying ice to your face and using arnica or bromelain on your face. Inflammatory processes are crucial to rejuvenating your skin, but they may interfere with the process. For at least two weeks, stay away from sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. In the event, you’re going to be outside for more than 24 hours, wear a hat and sunblock (30 SPF or higher). Any soreness can be relieved with a pain reliever, such as Tylenol.
